The volume presents a hoard of Roman coins, one of the most important ever discovered in the West, now scattered throughout the world, which was hidden around 315. Out of a total of approximately 700 coins, the authors list 472, of which 83 are 'High Empire with an aureus, 81 denarii and an antoninianus. For the Lower Empire, the treasure constitutes an extraordinary historical testimony, with 389 coins, of which 25 gold multiples, and with the singular medallion of Constantius I Cloro from the Trier workshop. The treasure also includes numerous jewels, including a necklace of gold pendants and pieces of silverware, including a notable candlestick.
