Vico D'Incerti, Il Piave murmured ..., poster of the film, Policrom, Rome 1964, 71 x 34 cm.

The film "Il Piave mormorò ..." by numismatist Vico D'Incerti was presented in Italian cinemas in 1964. The shots were made with the aid of the optical printer D'Incerti. The numismatist, in fact, was also a well-known inventor of cinematographic machines and holder of dozens of international film and photographic patents. The film, which earned D'Incerti the Unesco prize for best educational subject, traces the alternating events of the Italian war, reviewing unpublished and original documents, the most dramatic facts and places of the long conflict: Montenero, San Michele, Carso, Adamello, Gorizia, Podgora, Trentino, etc. Here are some sequences dedicated to the last years of the fighting: the crossing of the Isonzo, the entry into Gorizia, the war in Cadore, the battle of the Bainsizza, the route of Caporetto, the retreat on the Piave, up to the victorious battle of Vittorio Veneto. There is no shortage of inserts dedicated to the military activity of the navy and aviation. Overall, the film, which met with considerable success, presents excellent material, without departing from a traditional reading of the conflict.

    Folds and signs of aging.

A very rare document attesting to the intense cinematographic activity of Vico D'Incerti.
