Biblionumis, founded and directed by Luca Lombardi, is an antiquarian bookshop specialized in numismatics, located in the historic centre of Terlizzi, in the province of Bari, within a restored eighteenth-century building conceived to provide a suitable environment for the preservation and appreciation of books. Visits are by appointment only.
Our catalogue includes works devoted to every field of the science of coins, medal studies, sigillography, and paper money. Particular emphasis is placed on the fundamental texts of numismatic literature, bibliographic rarities, editions printed before 1850, documentary materials related to the history of numismatic studies, specialist periodicals, sales catalogues, auction catalogues, and fixed-price catalogues. The “Miscellanea” category instead gathers publications from different disciplines that may offer useful contributions to numismatic research.
From sixteenth-century editions to the most recent and up-to-date scholarly works, we handle publications capable of satisfying the requests of the most demanding collectors and the most qualified scholars. We devote particular attention to works with fine bindings, artistic engravings, prestigious bookplates, and to rare or out-of-print modern books.
Care for our clients has always represented a defining characteristic of our activity. From the selection of the material offered to the meticulous description of each volume, from assistance during the purchase to the management of shipments, attention to books and the professional relationship with the client constitute central aspects of our work.
We are honoured to count among our clients public and private museums, university professors, scholars, and collectors from numerous countries.
In addition to sales, we provide bibliographical and library consultancy services, appraisals, and expert evaluations of individual works or entire specialist libraries.
We purchase entire libraries and individual rare books, guaranteeing confidentiality, the highest market valuations, and payment in cash.
