The Second Part is embellished by the indication of the creations in elegant coeval handwriting, next to each lot, and notes relating to the sale.

Attached is a long and very interesting letter, dated Palombara April 22, 1882, in which the writer, having personally participated in the auction, communicates unpublished information on the conduct of the auction to a titled numismatist. For example, he claims to have bought one of the most important coins at auction, the gold Julius Caesar, and that immediately after having collected it he would have received extraordinary economic offers from America, refusing them. The letter also contains information of scientific interest, such as those relating to a treasure trove of 900 consular coins found in the Marcellino area. The Greek and Roman republican coins of the Depoletti Collection were presented in an additional section to the catalog, not included here.

Slight signs of aging and minimal lacks on the back of the First Part, otherwise in excellent condition with solid bindings.

Together unique and of great interest.
