The Annals of the Italian Institute of Numismatics are among the most important numismatic periodicals published in Italy. Founded in 1954 by Laura Breglia as the institution's scientific organ, they publish scholarly articles in Italian, as well as French, English, Spanish, and German. The articles are written by qualified numismatists from universities, museums, superintendencies, and research institutions, both Italian and international. The journal's interests encompass all aspects of numismatics, from the prehistory of coins to their subsequent developments up to the modern age, from documentation of finds to metrology, metallographic analysis, and economic history. The history of the collections and their cataloging, as well as the history of numismatic studies, are also covered. Contributions are divided into "Studies and Documents" and "Insights, Comments, Reviews, and News" sections. The volumes conclude with the "Report on the Activities of the Italian Numismatic Institute," which details current and ongoing initiatives, new editions, and publications received.
