The numismatist Alessandro Visconti (1757-1835) in 1810 undertook the publication of this numismatic periodical, one of the first published in Italy, which was written in Italian and French since at the beginning of the nineteenth century French was the international language. The editorial choice was perhaps also determined by Visconti's hope of having a good number of subscribers in France who could have ensured economic autonomy for this magazine. After the second issue, however, the publication of the periodical was suspended. For further information, please refer to the reading of the study by Giuseppe Ruotolo, Ancient Medals inedite periodical published by Alessandro Visconti, published in Progresso Numismatico of March 2019.

The two issues make up the entire publication for this periodical of great rarity.

Exemplary in excellent condition, with very fresh and untouched paper.
